Job Purpose:
The Radiology Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing specialized support in the field of veterinary radiology. This role requires exceptional technical skills and knowledge to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animals through the use of radiographic imaging techniques. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic imaging procedures on animals, including positioning, capturing, and developing radiographs with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure the safe and proper handling of animals during radiographic procedures, utilizing appropriate restraint techniques.
- Maintain and operate radiographic equipment, ensuring its proper calibration and functionality.
- Prepare animals for radiographic procedures, ensuring they are appropriately sedated or anesthetized when necessary.
- Assist veterinary radiologist and other healthcare professionals in interpreting radiographic images to aid in diagnoses.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of radiographic procedures, including patient information, radiographic techniques used, and any abnormalities detected.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of radiographic equipment and examination rooms.
- Collaborate with the veterinary nursing team to provide optimal patient care during radiographic procedures.
- Assist in the training and supervision of veterinary nursing students and other staff members in radiographic techniques and safety protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician.
